If you are using a work email or an internet service provider email, you might not be able to send your email.
An example of a work email is mary@bestlawyers.com or john@weddingflowers.com.
An example of an internet service provider email is rachid@bigond.com or jamili@comcast.com.
There could be two reasons why you cannot send emails if you are using a work email or an internet service provider email:
1. Your work email or your internet service provider might not allow emails to be sent from outside your home country (to prevent, for example, spammers in Russia from hijacking your email); or
2. The Three UK network might prevent you from sending email except through Three's own mail servers.
Solution
The easiest solution is to log into your email through webmail (ie through your web browser). Most internet service providers and work email can be accessed through webmail. Please contact your internet service provider or your employer to find out the webmail login details, or SEARCH online eg "Bigpong webmail".
The other solution is to change the outgoing email port on your device from 25 to 587. It is possible that your email provider does not support port 587 - in which case you should try port 465 as an alternative.
With some email providers you may also have to send email using a secure SSL connection.
Changing email port on an iPhone
Go to Settings.
Tap "Mail, Contacts, Calendars"
Tap on the account you're having problems sending mail from
Tap on the name of the account again
Tap on "Advanced"
Tap "Server Port"
Change the port to 587
If you're still having issues, you can try using the Three UK outgoing mail server smtp.three.co.uk, using port 587.
Changing email port on another type of phone
As there are literally thousands of types of mobile phones we cannot list instructions for each device. Instead please SEARCH online for your device and how to change the outgoing email port, eg "Samsung phone change outgoing email port".
If you're still having issues, you can try using the Three UK outgoing mail server smtp.three.co.uk, using port 587.
