When you use our UK phone sim card, you get a new UK mobile number. If you want someone to call you (from within the UK or from back home) they need to call your UK mobile number and if they are calling from outside the UK they will incur international call costs.


If you want to continue to receive calls on your Australian mobile number, you have a few options, set out below:


Option 1 - Divert your Australian mobile number to your UK mobile number

 

You'll pay Telstra, Optus, Vodafone etc a per minute diversion cost to divert your Australian mobile to your UK mobile. You will need to contact your network carrier to find out how much this will cost. We don't know how much it will cost you or even be able to guess how much it will cost you - you will need to find this out yourself.

 

Please note that it is technically impossible to divert text/SMS from your Australian mobile to your UK mobile. But you can insert your Australian sim card into your phone when you're in the UK to collect your Australian mobile text/SMS.

 

There will be no charge on your UK sim card to receive the diverted calls from your Australian mobile. But please note that your Australian network carrier will charge you to divert your Australian mobile to your UK mobile.

 

Option 2 - Get a "Follow Me" number

 

If receiving calls on your Australian mobile is very important, we also can offer to you a "Follow Me" number.

 

We rent you a virtual Sydney (02) landline number for the duration of your trip which diverts to your UK mobile number. When you leave for the UK, you divert your Australian mobile to your "Follow Me" number:

 

Your Australian mobile number ---> Your "Follow Me" number --> Your UK mobile number

Important notes:

 

1. Unused minutes are non-refundable.

2. Unused minutes do not roll-over if you're staying longer than 30 days and renew your "Follow Me" number.

3. Your Australian telco will charge you a per minute cost for diverting your Australian mobile number to the "Follow Me" number (please check with your mobile provider).

 

4. We cannot guarantee the quality of the call, because your call is travelling from Australia to the UK.
