In order for your iPad, Tablet or Hotspot to work with the UK SIM card, it must be both unlocked, and technically compatible.
All iPads are both unlocked and technically compatible.
Many other Tablets and Hotspots will work with the UK SIM card provided they are unlocked and technically compatible.

To be technically compatible, your device needs to operate on:
3G: 2100MHz
and/or
4G/LTE: 800 MHz and/or 1800MHz
Just do a Google search for your device to see its specifications.
If your device is not unlocked and/or does not operate on the frequencies shown above then the UK SIM card will not work, and you will not entitled to a refund under any circumstances.
